Palm Beach’s South End is about to experience a major transformation. Beginning May 1, Phipps Ocean Park will officially close to the public as a $31 million renovation project gets underway.

This ambitious redevelopment is led by the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach, which is funding the majority of the work. When completed, the 18-acre oceanfront park will reopen as a space that combines natural beauty with new amenities for recreation, learning, and community gathering.

As reported by Palm Beach Daily News, the park will remain closed through October 2026. The tennis center and adjacent parking facilities are expected to reopen in November 2025. During construction, beach access and nearby public parking will be limited, but Midtown Beach will stay open.
